Myriad training opportunities are provided to Cal Poly Corporation staff, including the Supervisor Certificate Series, Monthly Training programs, CPR and First Aid certifications, and other programs offered through the University.
Full-time employees may be eligible to take a course at Cal Poly, or other accredited institution with administrative approval. The course must be work-related or part of a Career Development Plan relating to a career existent in the CPC. Fee reimbursement may not exceed the fees required for six or less units at Cal Poly. The fee reimbursement program is funded solely from the employee's department, therefore participation in this program may be limited to strictly preferential enrollment if the budget and/or sponsoring agency if funded from a contract or grant does not allow for this type of expense.
Employees who have been employed more than 6 months may take a course at Cal Poly, Cuesta College, or other accredited institution with administrative approval. The course should be taken on the employee's own time. The course must be work-related or part of an approved Career Development Plan relating to a career existent in the Cal Poly Corporation. Fee reimbursement shall not exceed the fees required for six or less undergraduate units at Cal Poly.

An in-house designed and facilitated course, this program is the backbone for many of the other management development courses, and is recommended for all managers, supervisors, and employees aspiring to supervisory positions. Topics include:
Participants may enroll in one course or the entire series. Employees completing 10 courses will receive certification.
A variety of training programs are offered to CPC employees to foster employees' professional growth and lifelong learning, such as: Supervisor Training, Interaction Management, "7 Habits of Highly Effective People", CPR/First Aid, MIS, and PC Application Training. There are many more training programs and services for employees.
